Old Hickory mini report 09-14-2009
« on: September 14, 2009, 05:57:05 PM »

Fished old hickory Sat 9/12 and Sunday 9/13. Tons of bass tourney boats. I fished along the bank with foam bugs. Sat. I caught Lots of bluegill warmouth and a few bass. One aprox 18 inch on a 4 wt with 3lb tippet. Sunday again caught aprox 3 dozen palm size gills and a couple bass.

Only had 1 1/2 hr to fish today. Bass were busting the threadfin pretty good. Caught 5 pretty fast. They were all small 12 - 15 inch. Lots of fun though. This using a 2 1/2 inch bunny streamer.

Fishing is deffenitly starting to pick up.  ;D ;D

I heard that the extreme lower end has some big Striper surface action and below the dam is is fishing well too.

Ron,

Good to hear you got out and caught some fish.  Too bad I'm back to work.  Looks like I have 1 day off in the next 20 days.....crap.  I do still want that rod.  I'll call you later this week.

I live on the lower end, on Drake's Creek - I haven't seen any stripers on my end of the lake at all.  Maybe they are only on the main lake and don't move up into the creek mouth, but that doesn't jive with what I know about stripers.

Down below the dam is a different story and I hear it's fishing well there.

I heard from a good source they were there in the lake area, not in the creeks.
