Hello all!  Not really familiar with any trout waters directly in the area.  Is there any decent tailwater in the Morristown/Rogersville Areas?

The Holston below Cherokee Dam is in range.  It is a fairly "new" tailwater trout fishery, but they stock it generously, and the rainbows grow fast on caddis and midges, so there are multiple opportunities for trout in the 12-16" range.
It's a warmer tailwater, so it doesn't quite reach its potential for Larger trout, although a few 20-30" fish have shown up.
BIG Stripers frequent the tailwater, but they're hard to find.
Aside from that, the middle Holston upstream from Rogersville is one of the finest smallmouth fisheries in the country.

Good luck,

Travis

Thanks for the hints.  My parents live near and I used to live around there (prior to my fly fishing life).

I'm planning a trip up to visit soon and thought I'd see what I may be able to get into.

I think they still stock Big Creek in Rogersville.

Holsten below Cherokee Dam,  Buffalo Creek just beyond Cherokee Dam , Horse Creek just outside of Greeneville, TN, and you really aren't that far from Greenbriar.  Tons of blue lines just beyond Newport that have naturals.

nice little stream that dumps into the Holston below Cherokee Dam...watch for low lying friends with bad attitudes!!
