ohmygosh, my $500,000 home is only worth 1/4 of it's value, i have no sympathy for those folks. I'm sure i'll have to help pay to fix it as well. Angry

explanation?

The dam was owned by the homeowners association, under repair from an 08 flood with Federal assistance & they'll need money to repair it this time providing the state allows it to be rebuilt.

If I'm not mistaken, the whole purpose of the dam in the first place was to provide hydroelectric power for the wealthy people with big cabins on the lake.  I wonder how the people downstream feel about that.
