Had a rod in my truck as usual and had a little extra time this evening. Got to Priest at 3PM and left by 4 because the rain was starting to get harder and I didn't want to risk my blackberry and my wallet, so I headed back to the truck. Probably was actually casting for 40 minutes or so.
I walked the shore in any area I saw some birds and it was very good on the whites, largemouth and hybrids. Caught 2 whites, 4 largemouth, 1 hybrid and had another hybrid break me off in that short span. All on a tiny fluke on 6lb line fished on a 3/16 oz head. Had lots of short bites too, some were the lure hitting the copious amounts of shad and others I believe were smaller whites or yellows. One of the largemouth was an easy 3lbs and the smaller hybrid I got was probably only about the same. There were some really good fish in the bait. I saw the fish that broke me, probably a 5-6lb hybrid. It is tough with 6lb line in rock infested shallow water.
Should still be good after this storm unless it muddies the water up a lot.
good fishing,
Brian
