That is called Silent Traction System. It provides traction, shock resistance, and a dampening element. It is from Stewart Products right in Hendersonville, TN. It has an adhesive backing, and very durable. The owner of the company is Chris Stewart, he and Chad Hoover bought Hook1 Kayak Fishing Store from Texas and relocated to Hendersonville over a year ago. Unlike other materials this is very durable, you can find it on the swim decks of many recreational boats like Cobalt, and many others. They produce many great products. I'm looking out for others interests, buy taking the initial hit. With the fleet we have it's still not cheap. Looking to get someone in a great kayak for 35% off retail, and not having to give another $100+ to Uncle Sam.  This is about $500 off what one would cost new, and with the custom color that would add another $200+, so you are saving over $700 .

The seat comes with, no paddle, no woman, no PFD, no rods, no reels, or cooler.

71lbs with seat, 65lbs without seat. I get the STS (Silent Traction system) in 4'X4' sheets, and the weight of the sheet is less than 5lbs. I have maybe 1lb or less of material on the kayak.
