Nationwide assessment of streams and rivers

A few years back I helped do some of the fieldwork for a nationwide survey of the health of our rivers and streams. The EPA just released a draft copy of their report, and it's pretty depressing -- over half of all the sampled rivers were in "poor" shape, and just over a fifth were in "good" shape.
