Exactly! Cars that I remember well. My Grandfather had a light blue Pinto wagon.

We had a Yugo dealer on Stones Drive in Kingsport growing up in the 80s.

hehehe, these cars precede the 80's a little bit. The Pinto was a station wagon.

The Pinto was offered as a station wagon and two door sedan.   :P

I was 'spoiled" as a kid...first 2 cars:

1977 El Camino...it was red if you could find clean sheet metal between all the rust and bondo on that thing.
1968 Olds F-85...much less rust on this one, still tear up when I think back to the day my Dad sold it!   :'(

Ha ha.  I had two buddies in HS who had pintos- both were brown, one was a wagon.  They used to race across the bridge and the wagon always won from a roll- had to actually as it had no clutch!  Earlier growing up in Huntsville, you were never more than 5 cars away from a Maverick.

Nobody laugh.  At one time my family owned a Maverick. ;D  Turns out it was a much better car than the Sunturd (Pontiac Sunbird) as I fondly refered to it. :o

ha...my dad drove a pinto when i was young, i remember him pulling the motor out in the garage with a come along tied to the center beam in the garage. then he bought a used ford granada for a family car and got the earl scheib paint job for 99.95.

i still like the pinto mag rims, i think there cool looking.

I almost got one of these for my first vehicle ($600), the rust hole through the roof was a turn off:

Instead I got this (and wish I still had it):

1966 International Scout, 4 spd.

An old lady totalled my first car...a pea green Maverick.
Took the insurance money and bought a 72 Olds Cutlas Supreme with a 350 rocket engine.
It went fast, but sucked the gas through the double barrel carb like water through Center Hill dam on 3.   ???

First car was a 1970 Mercury Montego. It was more car than a spoiled, brat deserved. My parents were better to me than I deserved.
