Big South Fork
« on: July 11, 2010, 08:56:36 PM »
Made it over to Rugby on Friday and picked up our backcountry permit and a couple hours later we were set up on the Clear Fork river. Tried fishing at once but got driven off by thunder and lightninig. Caught a few foot long small mouth on a rabbit strip darter pattern as rain slowed. Once the rain stopped, the bite slowed and the fish spooked easily.
Spent the rest of the evening catching countless red eye and sunfish.

Made it out the next day and the main South Fork was blown out.

The Clear Fork is worth the trip...... Watch out for these!

Looking good there Brady, looks like some beautiful country for sure, nice and isolated.  The bottom of that river looks like some tricky wadin, and that last picture is the one that would keep me on the edge, you know how I am about those critters.  didn't used to bother me but that was when I was a tad bit faster.

BTW, do folks eat copperheads like they do rattlers

No, copperheads are a dark meat and taste snakey vs. the nice white meat of rattlesnake....

So much for getting Jarrod to take a trip to the BSF.
