Sterling Beer? [Vintage]
« on: April 15, 2012, 06:06:18 PM »
Anyone ever heard of (or enjoyed) a Sterling Premium Pilsner?  I am constantly picking up trash in the rivers, and the other day I ran across an old pop-top beer can of "Sterling Premium Pilsner" brewed by G. Heileman Brewing Co. La Crosse, Sheboygan, Newport, St. Paul, Evansville.

I've never heard of it or seen it before.  It seems to be pretty old (it's a pop-top can) but new enough to be aluminum and not tin.

Worked in place called the Beverage Barn in the heart of downtown Chattanooga in 1979-80. We sold beer by the case and those who bought Sterling looked like they had been drinking 24 x 7 since 1930. Thats some hard core beer!

The can looks pretty good if it's 35 years old.
