snookin
« on: June 07, 2008, 12:38:43 PM »
Made it into Tampa yesterday afternoon and loaded up with my nephews went fishing.  The blacked out the well for the boys in the first couple cast of the net and the fishing began.  One nephew is 8 while the other is five so unless the stars line up perfectly one never gets to fish for more the five minutes before Uncle Craig I think I have a bite, Uncle Craig I have bottom, Uncle Craig can you tie this knot.  The entire time my Dad is standing in the front of the boat making cast after cast.  He gets snoookedified and his lurer comes off.  (I did not have the heart to tell him I was the one that tied the half hearted over hand knot and I never intended that luerer to be used last night.) Make a run above the bridge again and both the nephews have their line in the water I finally get a couple of cast and we all start getting hits.  Caleb my youngest gets broken off by a school of macks, I miss a mack on a white clouser, and  my nephew catches a four foot shark.  Mayhem for a couple of minutes, it kind of  sounded like a church choir singing at FIRST BAPTIST OF THE OCEAN.  Dropped the boys off and my dad and I hit up some lights.  Finally, fishing with pops.  First cove we get two I catch three trout and nothing else.  By this time its three in the morning and I have been up for 23 hours.  TIME FOR BED.

Get up a 5:45 hit the beaches one lame lady fish; still snookless.  BACK TO BED

hang in there pal, all that lost sleep was worth it for a little time like you had with nephews and your dad, catching would have been a nice plus but what they heck!! ;)
