East Tennessee week of Spet 23-29

The Watauga is seeing some nice small tan caddis hatches and we are starting to see some of the bigger October caddis coming off. We are still seeing a terrestrial bite, the teenager in the picture got that bow on a beetle.

The South Holston has good Sulphur hatches during our floats and the bigger browns are starting to move around to feed up for their upcoming spawn.

The Holston Proper is still fishing well, the popper bite is a little off so we have gone to wiggle minnows and small streamers.

Here are a few photos from this past weeks trips.

Thanks for the updates on the hatches on the rivers. I think it may be time for my annual trip to the area.  ;D

BTW, those are some nice fish!

Some great looking fish, thanks for the report! What'd the Smallmouth eat?

Talked with a friend this week that guides on the So Ho, he says that a "split case" has been the top fly this year during the sulphur hatch. It produced the biggest fish this week from everyone they guided.

Looks like a great time on the water enjoyed by all
