Yesterday, I was at the bottom. I was at the bottom of a valley, in the river. Then my eyes hiked up the mountains to the snow capped peaks. I thought, "When I am at this lowest place I can be, standing in a river, everything is looking up."

this is brood 14, of the 17 year cycle, supposed to be gang busters when the ground temp reaches 64 degrees 4" deep, or so I've been told.

I've got a few tied up just in case ;)

one of tool buddies told me Friday that he planted scrubs this past week and the ground he dug up was full of Cicadas, about 4" underground. Said there were thick, so maybe we will get a good hatch.

He's about a mile south of Tims Ford State Park.
