I dunno how this happened....
« on: September 25, 2006, 07:43:58 PM »
I actually was thinking about posting something about what an exasperating experience it has been working out insurance coverage to include our 16 y/o son with his new, as in less than a week, drivers license...try on $330/mo for basic car insurance with 2 older cars.  >:( >:(  .  What I didn't tell him was that it was as much because his mom can't drive as because of him...but that's a different tale...anyhow...somehow that thought process morphed into something else.

Some of the crew around here know the genesis of my chosen screen name here and why I basically have no free weekends from about the first of August until late November....it's because of the time I gladly spend doing work with the marching band at his HS.  Then somehow the urge to share some photos of him and the band came over me....nahhh it doesn't have anything to do with T.U.I. ... I'm just proud of him and actually all of them.

Here are a few photos from this season....

Marching to the stadium before a football game...man I love the beat the drum line plays going to and retreating from the stadium...

BTW those drums that Chris is carrying weigh about 65 lbs....

Warming up before the performance

Chris is on the far left hand side of this photo...

As the band arrives in the stadium....

and just for perspective...even though you can't see the end of the line...this is a shot showing the entire band as they fall into formation prior to entering the stands...

They're a great bunch of kids!

That's a fine looking young man and Time well spent Tim.
Wherever the standard of freedom and Independence has been or shall be unfurled, there will her heart, her benedictions and her prayers be.

But she goes not abroad, in search of monsters to destroy.

She is the well-wisher to the freedom and independence of all.

She is the champion and vindicator only of her own.

Yep, agreed. Looks good. I remember listening to them on our way to Carthage one early morning.

It's a good thing that you have the time to do that kind of stuff with him, Tim. My parents didn't. I would trade all of my fishing trips with you, past and future, for you to be there for him. Very cool.
Yesterday, I was at the bottom. I was at the bottom of a valley, in the river. Then my eyes hiked up the mountains to the snow capped peaks. I thought, "When I am at this lowest place I can be, standing in a river, everything is looking up."

Yep, you're definitely right about that Ron, I am very fortunate to be able to spend this time with Chris as well as the rest of the kids. It's a lot of work and I spend an incredible number of hours doing grunt work but I get an awful lot out of it now and hopefully it will pay dividends for years to come.

Have a good time with Hayden Ron. I happen to agree with you that somewhere around 4 y/o seems old enough for a short trip to me too. We've got some great pictures of both our boys either fishing or pretending to fish at about that age.  Can't put a price on that! What do we know though?? We gave up the privilage (sp??) of ever being right again when we said "I do".  ;D
