rod holders
« on: July 29, 2008, 04:56:02 PM »
Looking for any hints/ideas on installing rod holders in my drift boat. It doesn't have factory rod holders, but just hanging the tips out the back of the boat doesn't seem like best idea anymore. It's a hyde legacy so its a 14'6" boat.  I would like to avoid drilling multiple holes in the hull. That scares me.

You can look at the rod holders in the Hog Island boats. I think it would be fairly easy to duplicate in another boat. I think you would have to make a few holes, but they would be high on the hull, no where near the water line.

Just seal the hell out of them with Marine grade Silicone Sealant, use nothing but Stainless and you will be fine.
