Orvis "Easy Mend"
« on: August 07, 2008, 09:01:27 PM »
Orvis has a new line called Easy Mend, and it casts effortlessly. I have been trying alot of different lines, and it is on top of my list so far.  CT has this line on a test reel in 5 wt. if anybody would like to give it a try. I would highly recommend giving it a cast if you are in the market for a new line.

hehehe, i don't know if the test line(parking lot) will tell you much. It does cast with ease as Jarrod stated, it really shines on the water though while working the current, very little rod movement need to mend the line, guess that's how it got the name :-\
I'm typically an Wulff or Cortland fan, i to am impressed with this Orvis line.

NYC?  I saw a fly-fishing show of some guys catching some awesome stripers on flyrods out of boat in the river right in front of the UN building.  There was a huge rock or something in the river creating a swell/break, and the fish were laying right in the seams - looked fun!

Hit the Beaverkill or Willowemoc if you can, about 2hrs north - great fishing and beautiful water!

2 hours north, heck it takes 2 hours to get out of Manhatten, and thats if traffic aint too bad. I lose my desire to fish when I come here. :(
