We just got power back and were alive/well and still have a house. One of the tornados made it's way directly over our house while we hunkered down in it. The noise, vibrations, ear popping, and wondering if your house is going to implode is something I can't describe and do any justice but I can tell you that there is no sweeter sound then the silence and pressure release that come as the tornado moves past you.

It cleared out several trees in my front and back yard, some over 100 years old some in the roof of my garage (broke my priceless and un replaceable Dancraft 3/4 wt :'( ). Three trees Punched a 2x4 hole in my garage roof, took out my fence and my shed. Looking at the devastation in my front and back yard and my neighbors yard I feel blessed. Looking at the destruction up and down the road I know we were blessed.

I'd like to thank Craig (Itchus) he was here helping me before I even realized I needed a friend to just be around. I won't get sappy but if you look up reliable friend you'll see his picture there.

Franklin Road Baptist Church who drove up with a youth group and help us cut our way out of the driveway. All the others who drove by asked if we needed help and those who stopped and helped. TN is full of great people and today just proved that.

I hope everybody else is ok. I’ve been into town and I realize we got off easy. Murfreesboro looks like a war zone right now.

I think tomorrow we are going to get a group together and go help some people. I’d love to make the event and I may make it still but right now the community needs all the help it can get.

If anyone here needs anything please let us know!

Mike I'm glad to hear your damage was not any worse.  We live just south of town, close to the Joe B Jackson exit and off Hwy41.  We were lucky to have no damage.  Not far down the street from us the straight line winds took down a few trees.  Like I said we were lucky to have no trees down on our property.

My sister's home is right in the storm path in the Segiel area.  She was not home when the storm passed and has not been allowed into here neighborhood.  All reports from freinds close to her home are that their home is not damaged.  She was very lucky.

I also want to THANK Craig.  I phoned him while he was out helping Mike.  When I mentioned my sisters home and location the first words out of his mouth is call him if we needed any help.  Craig you are special friend.  Thanks Buddy ;)

Just got the power back on a couple of hours ago. I live off of Haynes drive and the devestation around here is unbelievable. My daughter lives 2 streets over from me and there is nothing left of her house but a part of the foundation. Thank God that she had just left the house 30 minutes before it hit. I went over right after it hit and started digging through the nearest pile of tangled wood and pieces not knowing if she was home when it hit and did not know where she was. Finally got a text message from her that she had gone to work and was OK.
Her dog showed up late last night with just one scratch so we celebrated as all that was lost was just "stuff". We found part of her bedroom in the attic of what was left of the house across the street. Spent all day trying to recover what we could and it was not much.
Most of her house was reduced to marble size pieces. We are all very blessed here in the Boro that more lives were not lost.

So sorry to hear of your daughters loss to her home Tom, Thank God she wasn't there and that the dog came back home safely.  Is there anything we can do to help you or her out?  Just let us know.

Leo

Sorry to hear about the tornado in Murfreesboro.  Ten years ago I saw the effects of a Category 5 tornado nearby here in southwest Ohio.  Unbelievable.

I am sending a donation to the Red Cross with specification that it go to Murfreesboro relief.

You guys are in our prayers.

Quite a storm. I live off Compton and we were one subdivision West from one part of the damage; one subdivision north of another part.  Found mail in my yard from Arrowhead which is 3 miles probably by the Crow's path away.  Lots of people hurting and needing your prayers right now.  If you are reading this please pause and lift them up right now.
