Keep an eye out guys!

I work at Bass Pro on the weekend and they had several people come in talking about what had happend this past weekend. There was a tall slender guy with a beard and a short fat guy on Old Hickory pulling these stranded tricks at night. As far as I know they have hit a couple boats already. Flagging people down and getting a tow back to the ramp. While one guy goes to get the truck the other held up the person that towed them in at gun point. They take all the gear load then leave.

Sorry, I don't have any more info at this time as far as where on the lake. Just watch out being out there at night or day time.

Wonder if anyone thought to look at the #'s on their boat ???

That was happening years ago on Priest, they'd watch you launch, follow you to a remote place, take boat/truck & all, they were nice enough to leave ya with a lifejacket :o
I was in a cove right at dark one evening & noticed 2 guys going back/forth at the mouth, looking around everywhere, no fishing, they finally started easing back in, when they got close enough, i turned so they could see the hogleg on my side & they left.
I reported the %'s & suspicous activity back at the Marina & Metro came quickly.

It's a pretty stupid scheme if you ask me. Good thing is they won't need to be caught by the police.

Busted!

Smith County pulled us over for a taillight out on the Boat trailer late the other night and tried every way they could to find something wrong. Hell they even looked at the boat registration to see if it was up to date.
I mean really,, two middle age men, wearing new fishing clothing, in a $10,000 river boat, nice clean Ford 4wd, $20,000 worth of fly gear all over the truck and boat, and a cooler full of iced WATER. jeez they must be getting hard up for activity up there.  ;D

I think the main reason he pulled us over was he was curious as to why we pulling a boat with the lower unit missing!!! or so he asked ::)

The federal reg would override state carry law.

As I said in that thread, I'm not saying "don't carry."  There's that old saying about "It's better to be judged by twelve than carried by six."  But since it's not legal, you want to be discreet about it.

The cops could tell by looking that ye ain't from around here. That can be a felony in Smith County, depending on your attitude.  ::)
