beach snook pics
« on: June 16, 2009, 07:28:02 PM »
No beach snook, 10-15 west winds killed that.  Broke a 30" plus off, lost a 20" and a few shots the first day.  The next two days were full of cussing william and joeseph for making such a crappy stripping basket, ducking out of the fly wizzing by my ear, and dodging rays.  Still jozzzinnn to live by the salt.

(me at my best, standing in the surf feeling grace and joy push over my legs)

more pics to come from night fishing,

Icthus

Hey Icthus,

Was that out on Preist this weekend?  I don't know why you go out there and brave those horendous waves from all those big boats.  Better stick to the Caney.

That was Pal run on the Caney on Mem Day Weekend,, Duhh.  ;D

Craig the manrove hip shooter is a great basket but in deep surf it isn't so great either. I'd use a tub style like Orvis makes for what you were doing.

Craig, maybe if you would have worn one of those bandanas over your face, you wouldn't have spooked 'em so bad with that mug of yours. ;)

Looks like fun, bro.  Crystal and I are going to chase some East coast snook, tarpon, snapper, etc later on this month...can't wait!  Looking forward to the night reports.  Hope you get into some good uns.

Somebody needs to change the name of this post to "Frolicking In The Sea Without Beach Snook Pics"

Bwahahahahahhahaaaaa!

(I'm pretty sure they have hospitals and Coca-Cola down there buddy.  Life is short.)
Yesterday, I was at the bottom. I was at the bottom of a valley, in the river. Then my eyes hiked up the mountains to the snow capped peaks. I thought, "When I am at this lowest place I can be, standing in a river, everything is looking up."

Wellllll..... it wasn't at the beach but since there aren't any snook pics on this thread labeled "snook pics" and this one popped up on my desktop when the screensaver was running this AM I took that to be a sign that I should post it here......   Anyone recognize this guy that was pestering the juveniles???  Dang pedophiles!!! They're everywhere!  ;)  ;D

And....not that it has anything to do with anything other than it IS a snook....  but here's one our younger son caught fishing with me oh 7 or 8 years ago I think....

I seem to recall this guy pokin fun at anglers posing with rods in their teeth.

It's OK Mike...just trade me your Xi2 for a porcelain crown when you break off an incisor. ;)

One more week, and we'll be casting back at this bridge :)....

I can almost smell the salt.

Haha that pic was meant to be a poke at the rods in the teeth and tiny fish pics. I had forgotten about that Tim makes me want to go back there....
