LA Redfish weekend
« on: September 28, 2009, 09:31:13 PM »
Todd and I headed to LA on a tip that it was starting to fish well for big Reds. Turns out the water was up and the big uns were still outa reach but the med’s were in and hungry,  and stupid as ever.  Now folks I have a good time most everywhere I go and even though southern LA is pure Hell on earth this trip was just too much fun. I'll live it over in my head every night for a few weeks I'm sure.
We hired a guide the first day and fished on our own the second. Our guide was Capt Greg Dini ( www.flywaterexpeditions.com )and he's top notch guide in the LA and FL area for Tarpon and Reds and whatever else….. We took Todd’s new Maverick 18’ HPX carbon/Kevlar and all I can say about that boat is that its one bad muther. You could sneak on a Navy SEAL in that boat and take his junk.

I'm not in much of a typing mood so I'll let images tell the story. Todd, when we going again dude? The Waffle House in Hopedale called and said they are now serving whole fried soft shell crabs wrapped in Facon. ;D :D

Katrina!

Any house has to be 20' off the ground now.

The other half of the gang. These guys came from Destin and fished with us. They own the Ships Chandler in Destin and deal Maverick, Hewes, Pathfinder, etc... Good dudes and a good hook up if you ever need a flats boat.

Good shots mike, lets sell your house and you can pay my mortgage and move to the salt 8).    Glad you all had a safe trip, sweet boat too.
