Long time reader first time poster,

I’ve been down and not able to fish for quite some time due to a car accident, but now I have got my new boat and hit the Duck a few times to break it in.

It’s pretty much set up except I am trying to figure something out for rod holders, any suggestions?

It has a 40 powerdrive probably should have went with a 55 but seems to pull just fine. I cut the shaft down so it doesn’t stick up so far and get in the way.
I put the anchor wench on because I didn’t think I could pull up a 30# anchor that got wedged into some rocks with a recently broke back.

Leo thanks for showing me the boat on the internet.
Grumpy thanks for telling me about the pyramid it has worked flawlessly.
Glenn thanks for the info on jets.
Mike thanks for the forum, it gave something to look forward to when I was laid up.

Alain,

Love the rig. Very nice work. I am getting ready to have a anti-cavitation plate made for me so I can mount it on my Supreme. It is hard to tell but is your jet foot slightly under your cavitation plate or is that a shadow I see making it look like it is slight over it?

TIA,
Steve

Very cool.

I'm sure it will float you to many fine memories.

Welcome to the forum as a poster!
Yesterday, I was at the bottom. I was at the bottom of a valley, in the river. Then my eyes hiked up the mountains to the snow capped peaks. I thought, "When I am at this lowest place I can be, standing in a river, everything is looking up."

Very nice boat! Rod holders...  what do you think about Velcro straps up front on the right side?  http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Product_10151_-1_10001_13322____SearchResults

Steve,
Here are a couple of picts but from what I was told, they called it a "splash plate" to keep water from coming up over the back of the transom. I don't think it helps it from cavitating, not sure.

And Kingfish,
I like that but it has a fold up deck and I wouldn't be able to get in there unless I moved the rods.

Great looking rig, looks like that's got a nice shallow draft.  What size jet is that?

Nice boat and welcome to the board.

Steve I put a splash plate on mine. Buy a 2"x6"x15" piece of aluminum L from Ebay or wherever and screw it to the transom so that it rests just aove the foot. Works great.

They make a real bad squawking sound when you set the hook. ;D

Looking awful good there Alain, can'gt wait to see that bad boy.  How is it with that Merc?  That is one heck of a nice boat man.

here are some ideas on fly rod holders, if you take some of these ideas and apply your technical and mechanical skills  I am sure you will come up with some great holders

this one, So-Lo Marine Rod Rack Combos , looks like it might just get the job done.
