Well, this rain will whak the streams and rivers out for for a few days, but this has been the best smallmouth season I have had in 2 or 3 years.  I have been on a "smallie skunk" in recent years, and I am glad to have finally broken that curse - big time!  Hopefully they will continue to fish well into June.

smallies have been fun out in the spots i frequent.  This rain will be good for the creeks and get the water back up to a nice level.

yeah, hopefully this rain will push them up even higher and really set them off as far as the bite goes.  I have never caught smallies in my area as large as the ones I have caught this past week, and I have been fishing this area for 10 years.  This is definitely a "bumper crop" of fish this year.  I'm hoping to branch out a bit and hit some water further away from home after things clear out.

About one day away where I've been fishing.  I'm surprised to see it dropping so fast.  All the brown is already gone too.  I might get back out tomorrow evening...

Caught this one Sunday early evening...biggest ever for me on the Nolichucky.  Just over 20", wish I had my scales with me.
