Elk on 07/01/10
« on: July 01, 2010, 11:21:32 PM »
the Zoo is loose, went to Farris Creek about 6:30 tonight, figured I try some of the midges I been tying up, I strung up the #3 and put it away without fishing, I'm not about to share the river with 3 bubbas on 4 wheelers.  Went to Old Dam Ford, figured I'd not get a fish but what the heck, would get the waders wet, barely got a place to park, cars and tents every where.

I'd find something else to do this weekend, will be crazy out there. I'll be at work.

Kind of what I figured...now I'm glad I didn't waste the gas.  I was also hoping to get my waders wet quickly yesterday but didn't know if I could beat the crowd (non-fishing).  Glad you confirmed it for me (it at least makes me feel a little better).

Amazingly enough, we went to the Dam site at about 2:30 on Sunday the 4th and we had the river to ourselves...  the fish didn't cooperate overly well... but it was nice to have a quiet 4th on the river.

Bye and large the Elk doesn't seem to be fishing as well this year... I'm not having the 20-50 fish days I did last year, is the state not stocking as well, or what gives????
