After it cools offI have caught trout during the winter and fall  in creeks that empty into the Elk and Duck. Has anyone had any luck with warm weather fishing the creeks empting into the Elk and Duck.

What about the Buffalo in Laurel Hill WMA. Any trout there?

I was raised outside of Lynchburg, my dad had a service station on the main drag, Mulberry Creek was were I lost my flyfishing virginity :o I personally don't think it fishes as good as it did back in the day, but for the most part what does ?

Fished the Little Buffalo in Laurel Hill in 1999, I'm not afraid of snakes at all, but I'll have to tell you, that was the most snake infested place I've ever been outside of a snake house in a zoo. One small bush had 5 snakes in it.  Very pretty place.

Thanks for the info on Bufflalo. Did you catch trout in Mulbery Creek? I figgured Jack Daniels spills had just about wiped everything out of it.

I have only fished the Little Buffalo in the spring around the stocking time.  I caught some stockers near the access point but I didn't have much time at all to explore.  I was down there for a case and only had a little while to make a few casts.

I have heard rumors that there is a little holdover and natural reproduction on that river.  I was told there are very, very few big fish, but occasionally I'll give up a shot at big fish to hit a wild creek with naturally reproducing trout.  It's just a little too far from home for me to explore thoroughly.  One day I'll get back there in the "off season" to hit it more thoroughly and see what's really in there.
