TFO "BVK" rod
« on: October 04, 2010, 11:43:55 PM »
out at the Southern Conclave in Mnt Home over the weekend I had the opportunity to cast a #5, 7 & 8, all I can say is all the high end priced rodmakers better get their ad writers busy coming up with the next XYZ rod to get label buys buying, this rod will be a seller.

My buddy that was with me, I got him to cast the #8 and then the #5, he grinned and called me a name, said you just cost me $500 and he is very frugal.

I'm needing a #8 rod and this will be it, awesome tip recovery, speed, tight loops, and light as crap.

They are in David!  had the 5 and 8 out casting them today.  pretty neat rods with a lot of speed and backbone!

 ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

sure did, as much as we could, the parking lot was filling and couldn't really get a place that was really safe but for what it was doing, I was all smiles.

OK, when I stopped by the shop Wednesday I got a chance to give the 5 & 8 weight BVK a wiggle. All I an say is wow. These are some very nice and very light rods and without a cast to them yet, the action feels very good.

Can't wait to stop in when I have the extra time and cast one of these guys.

I picked up my BVK today and I was a little skeptical about all the hype.  I purchased a six weight with the intention of throwing a sinking line.  I believe this is one of the lightest rods that TFO has developed.  The feel is awesome, but like most TFO rods you have to over-line it to really feel the rod load, (which I dont mind).  This rod loads more in the middle and takes  the stress off the arm and hand when casting.  IMO its the best rod they have put their best foot forward since the TICRX.

I sold a TiCr X and replaced it with the BVK, I picked up mine this morning, spent the morning with Grumpy. I let Sam have the first cast, figured he'd give it some mojo. I cast it for a while, all I can say is money well spent.  ;)

Fished the bvk this past weekend and it feels great with a fish on the end. It's the best rod tfo has made ever. I'm looking forward to the 8 wt in the future.  The rod loads like a z axis and is light like the Helios.  If this rod is as durable as their others I believe it will catapult TFO to the next level.
