I consider him my best bud in the club, if all ten of us on a trip, are on Rim Shoals, Larry and I will be fishing side by side. He likes my flies so I fixed him up with a box for the club trip out to the Sowbug, later this month.
I took them by his office last Thursday, unexpected, he didn't know he was getting the flies. Handed him the box, it is lazer engraved on one side with TVFF logo, on the other is his name,address and phone #.
He focused on the flies and didn't see the logo, I pointed out the TFVV logo to him, he thought that was the stuff. He then flipped it over and said that is the fly that was so hot for us last fall, was rambling on how much time and effort I had put into this box, how the user should be proud to own it, after a few more seconds he focused in on his name. All the time I put into this was worth the grim I saw come on his face. Money can't buy some things.
