Three days on the water this week, good times all around. Early in the week managed a muskie/striper combo trip on some very pretty water with lots of fish - a reach that I have not fished before, but will do again soon.

Hit "home water" yesterday. Cut out a couple of downed trees to facilitate running one riffle when the water gets a little lower, then ran into one of 10wt's buddies -- he and his wife had dropped a small boat in and were fishing the reach I'd run a ways to get to... Picked up two smaller muskies during the day, but it was slooooow until it got dark -- got a mid-40 on an articulated gurgler. Oh, and I saw more smallmouth yesterday than I've seen in the last three years of fishing this reach combined. Nothing on top, and no cicadas chorusing yet, but still... weird. Wonder where they are hiding most of the time, and why were they out yesterday -- with all they muskies laying low, did they decide to have a party?

I need to get Finn one of those collar-mounted video cams... on second thought, scratch that. I'd probably just get two hours of squirrels, front paws, and butt-licking...
