There is no perfect boat, just boats that are better suited to some waters.  That said, Nucanoe IMO is not a good river boat and only a decent lake boat.  The design over emphasizes initial stability so things like speed and turning ability get left behind.  It also drafts fairly deep.  Depending on what rivers/lakes you plan to use and wether or not you plan to stand, you may also want to look at Jackson Coosa* (standup fishing kayak designed for rivers, but a tad slow for larger reservoirs) or WS ride 135 (harder to maneuver on more rapid streams but more speed for reservoirs).  You may also want to check out solo canoes such as Old Town 119 or Pack or offerings from Mohawk Canoe and others.  A solo canoe with a double bladed kayak paddle is a really versatile boat.

*Jackson kayak is made here in TN.

WS Ride is a decent boat, had one of them, it is definitely not a two seater though.  Doesn't do all that well going back upstream against current.  Native Ultimate 14.5, very stable not that heavy, and maneuvers quite well, just get a pump as it, like most canoes, is not self bailing.
