Coldwater warm water?
« on: February 13, 2012, 09:39:15 PM »
47F ain't warm. ;)

I finished work a bit early, so I chased stripers on Chickamauga for several hours this afternoon. Only got a few largemouths, a gonzo drum, and a couple blue cats; all 15-20 ft down in 25-30 fow or deeper, all on the fly shown. Surprisingly aggressive hits given the water temperature!

Right before dark the stripers came up top for a little bit, but I just couldn't convince them to eat flies instead of threadfin shad. Next time...

Love that fly.

But she goes not abroad, in search of monsters to destroy.

She is the well-wisher to the freedom and independence of all.

Let's see...600SP, Jumbo eyes, LateralScale flash..bucktail? or synthetic Hair?  Nice streamer.
Now you gotta stop hooking those weak green sunfish and tie into those Stripers.

Way to get out there Bill Dance

yup, just bucktail, krystal flash, lateral scale, and dome eyes superglued on and sealed in CCG on a 1/0 600SP. Quick and easy. A couple iterations have had hackle tied in Deceiver-style, but they didn't seem to work any better, and once they get chewed on a couple times the hackles fall apart anyway...

Bill Dance?! Naw, I lean towards Yoda's choice of hats.

Quick and easy.

We should name this fly BD's mom.

BD's mom has been a running joke on another forum far a few years now. I hope he doesn't mind that I couldn't pass that one up.
