I stack two perforated plastic  laundry baskets with a flat 8lb weight in between, so the wind can pass through, and not knock them over.  Plus you have a backup basket if your fishing buddy needs one too.  I stow my anchor in them during the drive so the wind doesn't get them.

I've also seen folks use the spring pop-up camping waste baskets....but I think a gusty day would make short work of those.

My 2 cents.

Higher buckets really shine when the wind kicks up... keeps the wind from catching loops and draping them out of the bucket (and on the floor, underfoot, around the dog, etc.).

I use a collapsible lawn bag (thanks for the idea Glenn). As well, he made me a weight tube for the bottom to keep it in place on windy days.

Check out the selection kitchen trash cans at Walmart.  The type of can which uses a swing dome lid I have found to work well.  It's the right height and size.

collapsible leaf bag works great.  It takes up very little room when folded up and put away.  I have piece of 1.5" clear vinyl tubing filled with sand & corked...I just leave that in the bottom of the bag .  It's enough weight to keep the bag on the bow during a windy day.

The bags are only $14, + tubing...you're into it for less than $20.

I have Glenn's patent pending leafbag, looking for a rigid setup, something I can put plastic golf tees, rubber tee holder and weight. Want it to hold water for running line lubercation.

I saw this DIY the other day - looked pretty cool...

Todd,

That is a great looking rigid stripping basket. Might have to build one of those for myself.

I will find one for cheaper. They have some at Walmart for pretty cheap last time I looked.

Round kitchen trash barrels from Walmart are <$20, if I remember correctly. They're just a tiny bit shorter than what would be optimal for me. I had some extra pins from a Mangrove Hipshooter that I used on mine, but I like the idea of golf tees. Add a couple of inches of water to slick up the line and you're set.

I haven't seen the round trash cans at Wally World lately. If you see one you better buy it up!

I looked in about a half-dozen different stores before finding one. Persistence pays...
