Withdrawal

It's been too dang long since I got to play. Spent last week chasing work fish out-of-state, but that doesn't count.

Last night I spent a couple hours before dark below my local dam with the two-hander, swinging small flashy streamers to white bass. Had hoped the stripers might be there a little early, but no such luck.

After working through the chores list, I spent most of today installing a new trolling motor, tuning up the outboard, and removing several cubic meters of leaves from the boat. With way too much time wasted doing that, I just had to water-test it... and if I'm going to do that, I might as well spend a couple hours chucking streamers below the dam. TVA was pushing a LOT of water, but that just brings the fish into predictable slots...

No big stripers, but a couple of these were pretty fun...

and these guys were everywhere!

I'm looking forward to the next couple months!

Nice smallie and those TN tarpon are a blast too.  I have a trip planned for the TN River in a few weeks.  Hope the weather premits, we were going this past Monday but 50+ MPH winds zapped our trip.
