Exploring New Musky Water
« on: November 20, 2012, 08:24:21 AM »
My friend John and his wife were able to stay in town through the following weekend.  When I asked him if he wanted to explore some remote musky water, he was all in.  With the help of a Gazeteer map when our GPS phone signals blanked out, we were soon at an unfamiliar launch site, fishing the clearest water I've ever fished for a musky.
The scenery was gorgeous, and we now have another haunt to revisit for these awesome fish.
One highlight was seeing a pack of about 15 large smallmouth bass cruising around some boulders---no takers.
Landed two fiesty smaller muskies...but I'm sure there were some hawgs lurking around.

Only one cabin on the water---had it's own outhouse, and no roads or trails in...just the water to reach it.

Landed one musky off this point:

Can't wait to go back.

Here's another splashy release video...two from this trip, and one from last week:

Nice pictures Travis.  That looks like a cool stretch of water.  I could go for a cabin like that, maybe just not on the very first flood plain, but either way that place looks sweet!

Many a good horror story gets its beginning with young people exploring an innocent little cabin by the lake,,, just like that one...
Wherever the standard of freedom and Independence has been or shall be unfurled, there will her heart, her benedictions and her prayers be.

But she goes not abroad, in search of monsters to destroy.

She is the well-wisher to the freedom and independence of all.

She is the champion and vindicator only of her own.

Beautiful turf and photos.

Color me envious of your location where this sort of thing is concerned!
