Tellico Plains

Im brand new to this forum and kind of new to middle TN. I wanted to get a couple suggestions on the tellico/bald/north rivers. I mainly want to hike smaller mountain streams.
Where would be a reasonable place to stay?
Are these rivers/streams easily accessible?
Just looking for some tips to get started.

There is a nice campground called Holly Flats in the area. Should provide adequate accommodations. The rivers are easily accessible from there if you don't mind working a little to get there you'll enjoy some of the most beautiful fishing locations anywhere on earth. There are however some strict restrictions that you'll need to know about. Single hook only and fishing with live bait is prohibited...

Hi Bob!

I have fished the Tellico/North Rivers several times.  Great watershed, great fly-fishing!  I usually stay in one of many campgrounds in the area.  Depending your preferences, you can even stay in a campground just up-stream from Green Cove community!

PS...  I also enjoy taking my grandsons to Green Cove Pond to catch some good sides trout!  Only youth (12 and under) and old gizer like me (over 65) can fish there...

Bob, there is a great Comfort Inn in Athens, TN  right off I 75 that is less than an hour from the upper Tellico.     I used to stay there when I was traveling on business.    I made it a point to sneak up into the Tellico and North Rivers for at least a day every trip over from Franklin.    Old Timer is right, it is an amazing stretch of water.   I've worn myself out several times over there.   Have fun !    Tommy

You could spend a couple months in the Tellico watershed and never fish the same run. A great place for solitude and soul searching while battling those wily trout.
