Looks like it would be great in the salt, looks like a hazard waiting to happen on small rivers and creeks.

Call me old school but I'm still a fan of the anchor and rope.

Sounds intriguing for the Hog island Skiff.  Just wonder about the cost.  With the traditional powerpoles ranging from $1-2K.  I wonder how much less it will be?
Getting the Jet added and waiting in line for a Sawyer Oar upgrade on back order.  This is one accessory that will have to wait (along with a carbon push pole).  Maybe someday?

Yoda summed it up.  Looks like chit waiting to hit the fan for small rivers.

Neat idea, but I think I'll just stick with the Yak Attack Park N Pole. I wouldn't want something sticking up that far above my head, as my rods are bad enough at catching stuff, and with something that far behind me it would be in the way of my backcast. If something is sticking up behind me I like it fairly close so I can grab and move it if it becomes a threat, or close enough to me I don't hit it on the back cast.

I have a power pole on the Maverick and there is no way I would install on a Kayak (even the kayak model) way to much stuff to go wrong. Wang anchor or a Stick Pin maybe but, no more stuff that requires maintenance! Heck, one power pole will just hold you in a 360 deg circle if the wind and current is ripping. Two poles are the way to go if you want hold your big boat still but, like Mike said it's hard to beat a anchor.
