Wheeler Farm

Made it out with my wife and daughter today to check out the Wheeler Farm addition to Fall Creek Falls. There used to be a farm located at the bottom of the valley, but it was washed out in the flood of 1929..... Cane Creek was estimated to have been flowing at 30,000 cfs. There is an arch, several small waterfalls, a rock ampitheater, and a young hemlock and beeech forest taking over. The section of cane creek nearby seems to be a dry bed full of round creek rocks running for several miles. You can find the trailhead driving from Spencer on HWY 30 on the right just uphill from the 285 intersection. Worth the time to explore if you are in the area.
