Cherokee National Forrest

My son and grandson and I headed for the Tellico River Sunday to wet a few lines.  We camped at the Indian Boundary Lake campground, because we were using a camper trailer that needed electrical hookup.

I took my grandson to Green Cove Pond Monday morning because I knew ne would catch trout, which he did.

Well, the Tellico was low and slow, so we decided to head up to the Citico Monday afternoon to check it out.  I had no experience there.  It was a great looking stream and we did manage a few.  We went again Tuesday morning to the South Fork of the Citico which was about a mile up the trail.  It was worth it!  We caught several wild trout, which is what I was after.

Lower trail.

some serious rock hoping!

I think next trip will be to the Citico instead of the Tellico.  I have found a new destination.

Yes Steve. I keep telling my son that I want to involve my grandson in fly fishing so that I will have a ride when I get too old to drive myself.  :D

Thanks all.  I haven't been getting into the water near enough this year.  Hope to change that.
