Scenic Smallies: August
« on: October 11, 2015, 03:01:09 PM »
Finally uploaded some photos from the Olympus from the past few months.  This summer, I found a couple windows to chase some skinny water smallies on the paddleboard.  I decided it was time to switch from wiggleminnows and popping bugs to some of my favorite topwater lures to solve the dilemma of spooking fish after fish on a downstream float in shallow water.  The longer casts gave me opportunities to unspooked fish, and the chases, crashes, wakes, and busts became very addictive.
It was really nice to explore some wild backcountry solo and with some friends once the crowds of summer started leaving the rivers empty again.

Nice report Travis!
Alas, all the evil of the twentieth century is possible everywhere on earth. Yet, I have not given up all hope that human beings and nations may be able, in spite of all, to learn from the experience of other people without having to go through it personally. The Gulag Archipelago 1918–1956
