Fishing Hiwasse above the power house

Has anyone had any experience fishing the Hiwassee above the power house? If so how was it? I fished a few times 30 years ago and foun the fishing and the walking hard going if my memory is correct.  ???

Very hard wading and the fish that are up that far are small at best.. can be a good smallmouth stream at certain times

yes very tough going.  I won't go wading unless I am wearing my pfd and I have somebody else there to help me.  If you make it up to the gorge area, watch out as many of the rocks have large voids underneath them, easy to trap a leg or something when wading.
