Fished Caney after work Fri with Jay. I caught a 14” Brown on the first cast with a foam hopper and was sure it was going to be a good day for dries… Wrong! No other fish came to the hopper, not even to smell it. I started tossing a big deer hair Shad pattern and caught a couple nice Sauger later in the day. Jay was spin fishing and landed a couple of Browns one was about 2 pounds I guess. It was a neat afternoon to be on the river since the low humidity and warm temps kept the fog away. As always, it was a real pleasure to be on the water doing what I love best with good friends.
BTW I found something that is keeping up with the price of gas, speeding tickets. I got one for 65 in a 55 on a rural hwy where you can see 20 miles in front of you and no population anywhere. My last ticket was at least seven to ten years ago and it was nowhere near the $179 that this one was. So if anybody knows the judge in Smith County I would gladly be willing to make a trade for a favor.
