Late Summer Gathering?
« on: July 18, 2011, 11:09:15 AM »
Anyone interested? Maybe a weekend trip to somewhere east? Got any suggestions on locations with fishing close by?? Lets get a good fall trip together in east TN. Mtn Stream fishing would be cool.

Find a base camp in one of the Big South Fork campgrounds and do some short hikes down to the river?

I second Icthus on the East TN trip.  I'm heading there on Wednesday for business and should be able to get a few days on the water. My hope is to hit the Caney on the way out and fish some East TN night haunts on Thursday.  Travis C. has got my blood moving with his latest post.
Fish on!

Mike, yall come out this way.  You should stay at Judson (Juddy) Moderns on the South Holston.  Good base camp for a lot.  Be good to have you guys this way!

Sounds like all we need is a location and a date. Let's see what we can come up with. Need to look into Judson I guess. Anybody else know much about that place?

I also really like the idea of a place near Tellico...

I think Jud's place is named Pursuit Farms.  He just has a farm on the river.  Primitive camping with a pavilion.  Ground zero for some of the more serious fisherman and hell raisers. ;)  It's just down the road from where I'm staying.  Should be no need for a reservation but if a large group comes then we may need to tell Juddy ahead of time.  South Holston, Watauga, Nolichucky... long list.
