heck, now i want one. I read where you ought to keep the GPS  turned off til ya need it, said it drains the battery pretty quick.

So far the one sorta disappointment I have (that I can't attribute to operator error) with the new camera is battery life.  The GPS function is off but wow the battery just doesn't seem to last long at all. Maybe I just got a bit of a dud with my camera?  I don't know but it seems as though the battery discharges quickly whether you've actually used the camera or not.  Or maybe it's just that so far I've mostly used it indoors and the shots have mostly used flash?

Also for what it's worth it seems that the camera has some challenges on white balance (generally too warm by a significant measure) when there are multiple types of lighting in the room ( mixed incandescent, halogen etc.).  Can't totally lay that on the camera yet though as my lack of familiarity with the camera and skill set (or lack thereof! lol) may well be a factor here.

That's a tough situation for any camera Tim. You can use alot of flash combined with a small aperture to try and overpower the ambient lighting.

Battery life may impove over time with charging and discharging cycles.
