Got out for one last Musky outing for the year. it's not every day you get to fish with the guy that built your boat, so today was extra cool!! I Met Todd in town and we headed off to his "secret spot"!!! we put the boat in and ran a few miles, then we got to work, it was not to long before Todd had a follow, but fish fell off the chase. Then it was my turn, i cast my fly past a likely looking blowdown and WHAM!!!! A nice Musky Charged out and engulfed my fly!! But i had to much slack in my line, and by the time i came tight and set it was to late!!!! the rest of the morning all i could think about was that fish!!! Todd had some things to take care of so i ran him back to the launch, while there i had a sandwich and made a pot of Coffee YUM!!!
While eating lunch all i could think about was that fish that eluded me earlier. so off I went!!
i ran back down to the hole where i missed him, i started fishing well above where he was, second cast i moved a very large fish, but not the fish from ealier, but this fish would have none of my offering. about 50 yards down stream was THE tree!! I put a cast just upstream and let it swing past...........................WHAM!!!!!!!! ......................................................THIS TIME I WEAS READY!!!!!!!!I strip set, and then again and the fight was on!! After a few minutes i put the net under my last Musky of 2012.
