I used my better judgement this morning, pulled my rig to my dealer and traded my 25hp for the 40hp, traded my control box and stick steer towards a tiller handle kit. He had the motor, had to order the tiller handle, I left the boat with him, should be able to pick it up later next week.

He says I will be impressed with the 40  :o

How impressed are you? ;D

I'd be calling the manufacturer or regional rep or switch to another brand, that's pitiful, makes you wonder what would happen if you really needed a part :-\

I second that.  At work, when I need a part for a design and D-Day is fast approaching, by making a few important phone calls, I've been "put at the front of the line".  It also helps that I am a loyal customer.  At the end of the day someone needs to make some money and the higher you go up the ladder, the concern with making money becomes a higher priority.  Make that phone call.

Fish on!

when I was in and doing business, I had to stand in line, was 5th to talk to him, he scribbled on a piece of paper to order me a tiller handle for the motor he has in stock.

I may got thrown in trash, was under a stack of papers when I left, I mentioned it to my wife, but told him I wouldn't be calling and bothering him.

I hadn't needed it, so haven't had no reason to worry him. But I'm "needing" it now.

When I purchased the 25hp, Steve told me he really didn't expect to see me again, has had zero trouble out of 4 bangers

Was it the same guy you bought the 25 from?  I tried to order some things from him and finally gave up and went the online route.  Had it delivered to my door in 3 days.  I'm lime you I hate to bug people but another month is crazy.

I just got off phone with Steve. Tiller handle has been in store for 2 weeks, it's the motor he's waiting on, thought he had one in inventory but didn't, no complaints from me I get latest model not something that was sitting in stock beside my 25 when I got it 2 years ago.
